Description

Looking for a great ’80s movie prop? This is a working Webcor TC144AD vintage tape recorder and player that has the crunchy speaker sound of your dreams. Check out the video to see it in action from the inside! It has a convenient handle that is in great condition, and overall it looks beautiful. It has ports for Ear (headphones), Aux, Remote, and Mic.

You might be thinking…where can I get music cassette tapes or blanks? Easy – check out TapeHead City and even Amazon carries blank cassette tapes! We want to hear what you create. 🙂

Webcor TC144AD Details:

    • Takes 5 C batteries, or you can use a 7.5V DC cord (not included).
    • Made in Japan
    • Tape Speed: 1 7/8 i.p.s. (What is i.p.s.?)

Condition notes:
The functions all work, but the rewind button is a little weird. You can only press it very gently or it will stop rewinding. We cleaned up the case and had a look at the rewind issue, but it might be a project for a specialist if you’re really wanting to update it. A fun project for a pro to see what mechanical issue is happening!

There are some imperfections on the case including some indentations on the metal brand plate on the front. Also take note, the “window” on the tape front is either missing or was designed to be open air. My research can’t confirm, and all photos I’ve seen have open air as well.

This is a vintage, used item sold as is – buyer accepts understanding of condition issues due to age. Please send any questions prior to purchase.
